Year 2 2023/24
Festival at The Fort
Continuing on from the success of our pilot project, collectively we decided to make it even bigger and better than before! This consisted of a year of arts and cultural workshops with over 1,270 children and young people contributing or taking part in performances.
Everything was brought together at our Festival at The Fort over the course of five days at the inspiring venue Fort Brockhurst. Scroll to the bottom to see our video!
Planning began for Year 2 in September 2023, making connections and partnerships and programming our festival. Taking on board the evaluation from our pilot project of Spring 2023, we shaped our workshops and activities based on the feedback and ideas we gathered.
As well as taking forward the work and creativity from our Year 1 participants, we wanted to build on the collection and outcomes and devised four projects for Year 2.

- Music Technology Sessions – Sea Shanty Remix – The Curse of Stokes Bay
- Art and Design open access project – Flags at The Fort
Each of these developed into the four elements we presented at our July 2024, Festival at The Fort, alongside our Exhibition in The Keep of both years work.
Workshops and devising began in January 2024 and continued all the way through to July.
