Three classes of Year 6 children will take part in this years sea shanty remix sessions.

In their first workshop each class learnt and recorded their singing of The Curse of Stokes Bay (part of the Solent Sing from summer 2023, where Gosport children re-wrote the lyrics to the tune of The Wellerman).

The following two workshops looked at an introduction to remixing the song and how to use the free educational software BandLab.

Each pair of students added their own bass line, drum beat and some instrumentation as well as sampling specific sections and how to layer and line up the sections.

Gomer Junior School and Leesland Junior School will take part and you can listen to their recordings by following the links at the bottom of the page.
